Two people arrested connection with the seizure of cannabis worth an estimated €480,000 in Dublin yesterday are due in court on Monday. Some 40 kilos of cannabis herb were discovered during a raid by officers from the Organised Crime Unit, the Garda National Drug Unit and Ronanstown Drug Unit in Rosewood Grove, Lucan yesterday evening.
A man and a woman, both aged 32, were arrested. The man was being held at Ballyfermot Garda station and the woman was detained in Lucan.
Both were being questioned under the provisions of Section Two of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996, which allows gardaí hold suspects for up to seven days.
They were released tonight and subsequently re-arrested and charged under the Misuse of Drugs Act, 1988.
They will appear before Blanchardstown District Court on Monday morning.
