SENSI SEEDS RESEARCH – THE LAUNCH OF A NEW GENERATION OF CANNABIS STRAINS
BARCELONA, ES – Europe’s largest and most long-established cannabis seed producer, Sensi Seeds, has announced the launch of a new initiative. Sensi Seeds Research, a new branch of the company, is dedicated to developing new breeds of cannabis in collaboration with the cannabis community – a bold and entirely fresh approach to the business of breeding.
The announcement was made at Spannabis in Barcelona. Europe’s largest cannabis fair, Spannabis took place in March, a month before the official launch is scheduled. Tens of thousands of consumers and business people visit Spannabis each year. The pre-launch announcement was greeted with enthusiasm by this extensive cannabis community.
Eleven new cannabis seed varieties
The Sensi Seeds Research breeding project presents eleven cannabis seed varieties. New cannabis cultivars have been painstakingly combined with a selection of strains from the long-established cannabis gene bank that Sensi Seeds is known for.
For the first time in thirty-six years, the company is opening the doors to part of its Research and Development department by inviting the cannabis community base to select and name three of the new strains they think should permanently join the Sensi Seeds main catalogue.
“We are very curious to see what kind of strain names these new tastes and fragrances will inspire. We value your opinions. We trust your expertise.”- David Duclos, Sensi Seeds Research Team.
The best of the old and new worlds
The new breeds of cannabis combine legendary Sensi Seed Bank cultivars such as Silver Haze® and Black Domina® with tried and tested varieties that have emerged in recent years. The Sensi Seeds Research breeders have chosen lines from the US with traits of exceptional strength and flavour – think Chocolope and Fire OG – and selected others with high CBD to THC ratios, such as Harlequin and Swiss Dream.
Another first for Sensi Seeds is making the strains available in packs of one seed, as well as the usual three, five and ten seed packs. Customers now have more options to pick and mix the genetics they are most interested in.
