THE Criminal Assets Bureau (CAB) has seized more than €200,000 in cash and a property portfolio from slain gangland boss Martin 'Marlo' Hyland.

Around 1200 cannabis plants - worth around 0.5million euro - have been seized in a drugs raid in Donegal.
Three men were arrested on Tuesday evening after the plants were found during a search of a house in Carrigans.

A man in his 20s has been arrested in connection with a drug and weapon find in inner city Dublin.

The arrest took place on Tuesday at around 5pm, as part of an ongoing operation into the sale and supply of drugs in the south inner city area of Dublin. During the operation Gardaí in Kevin Street Garda Station searched a house on McCarthy's Terrace and seized a cannabis plant, cultivation equipment, and cannabis herb with a street value of approximately €5,000, subject to forensic analysis. Gardaí say a stun gun was also recovered.

A college student accused of growing cannabis plants in his bedroom has told a judge that he is anxious to deal with the matter as he is due to sit his exams later this month.

Carl Hales (24) is alleged to have had four cannabis plants.
