Castlebar father fined for possession of cannabis

A 32-year-old father of one was convicted and fined at Castlebar District Court this week for possession of €70 worth of cannabis resin and cannabis herb.


victimless crimes cannabis marijuana lawsA search warrant was carried out on the residence of Cormac Cresham, 18 The Willows, Castlebar, on March 15 2009, where cannabis resin was found in a container on the window sill. Cannabis herb was also found on a window sill in the bedroom.

Cresham admitted that the drugs were for his own use. The unemployed man was convicted and fined €300 by Judge Mary Devins.
