A mother-of-three who is studying for a PhD at Queen's University has appeared in court after police seized cannabis worth an estimated £90,000 at her home.

Ngozi Eneh, who is originally from Nigeria, was charged with possessing the class B drug with intent to supply.

A man is due to appear in court in Belfast after cannabis with a street value of £500,000 was seized near the city centre.

A homeless man has been jailed for 12 months at Londonderry Crown Court after pleading guilty to a number of drugs related offences.
	John Harkin, 34, was found with a block of cannabis when police carried out a bail check at a house in St Joseph's Avenue in the city in September 2007. Harkin, who has 158 previous criminal convictions, had £1,750 pounds in cash in his pockets. A walkie-talkie and weighting scales were also found in the house.

Police have confirmed the man who was shot in west Belfast on Wednesday is awaiting trial in connection with a drugs charge.
	Kevin Sullivan, 27, of Lakeglen Parade in Belfast was wounded in the knees and ankles in the shooting which has been blamed on dissident republicans. His injuries were not life-threatening. In April the taxi driver was charged
