Six held in Northern Ireland over cannabis finds

Six people were arrested by police in Northern Ireland today during a planned anti-drug operation in the north of the province.

The arrests were made in the Coleraine, Co Londonderry and Bushmills, Co Antrim areas when a number of searches were carried out last night and in the early hours of the morning.

Suspected drugs have been found by police after a car drove through a checkpoint in north Belfast.

Police said they were carrying out a routine check of cars on North Queen Street on Friday night when a Toyota Starlet ran through the checkpoint.

(N.I) Cannabis and ecstasy seized in Armagh drug raids

THREE people were arrested during a pre-planned anti-drugs operation in Co Armagh yesterday.  Quantities of Ecstasy and cannabis were seized during raids on a series of properties in Lurgan and Portadown mounted by the Tactical Crime Unit.
