WINNIPEG — A Dutch company that supplies medical marijuana in the Netherlands is eyeing the Canadian market.
Bedrocan B.V. has been producing several strains of pot - ranging from low to high concentrations - for the Dutch government for six years.
The company says that kind of variety may be the answer to criticism of Canada's official drug supply, which is strictly regulated for active ingredients such as THC.
Many users say the current supply is weak and only 20 per cent of those allowed to use it.
A Bedrocan director says different people need different levels of active components, depending on their medical condition and personal preference.
The federal government currently gets its pot from a Saskatoon-based company, but has put out a request for bids for new contracts from potential suppliers.
