A man has been sentenced to six months in prison after pleading guilty to offences connected to unlawful production of cannabis.
Andrew Melling, 38, of St Gerrard’s Road, Lostock Hall, was arrested at Water Culture, a hydroponics supplier, in Walton-le-Dale in October last year during raids as part of Operation Skua, which targeted the unlawful production of cannabis.
He admitted charges including incitement to produce cannabis at an earlier hearing.
Insp Steve Stebbings, of Lancashire Constabulary’s Serious and Organised Crime Unit, said: “Lancashire Constabulary is committed to disrupting this type of criminal activity within its communities.”
A total of eight people were charged following the operation in October 2008.
Officers targeted seven premises in Preston, Walton-le-Dale, Darwen, Blackpool and Burnley.
A further seven people arrested as part of the same operation will appear in court at a later date.
