A MAN who suffered from depression had started taking cannabis to help alleviate the condition.
But since he had been caught by the police, Gary James Latham, 29, had received counselling, Flintshire Magistrates Court was told.
Latham, of West Green, Sealand, admitted possessing the drug on May 14 and was fined £60 with £75 costs.
Magistrates ordered the drug should be destroyed.
Brian Cross, defending, said his client bought the drug for his own use.
He had in the past suffered from depression but since the commission of the offence he had now started to receive counselling for his problems instead.
“My client has taken steps to try and deal with the problem,” said Mr Cross.
David Boycott, prosecuting, said that police saw Latham in Welsh Road, Garden City, he was searched and the drugs were found.
Latham said it was English herbal skunk and he had paid £590 for it.
