Five people have appeared in court in Dumfries following the discovery of a cannabis factory at Ecclefechan.
Police raided industrial premises on the outskirts of the village on Saturday and seized about 1,000 cannabis plants.
They could have produced drugs worth about £750,000.
Four men and a woman – Chong Cheng, Xian Hu, Awang An, Yun Lin and Wenxia Dong – all in their 30s and of no fixed address, were remanded in custody.
They were charged with producing cannabis at the Broadmeadow Industrial Estate in Ecclefechan between 1 March and 22 May.
They are also facing supply charges.
The case was continued without plea.
