Another major ganja bust has been made as the police fight to end the thriving guns for drugs trade operating along the country’s South Coast.
The police in Westmoreland Wednesday uncovered just over 2,000 pounds of ganja in bushes.
The weed was compressed and ready for export has a street value of two and a half million dollars.
The Westmoreland Police in collaboration with a narcotics team carried out the intelligence driven operation in the Auchindown area of Whitehouse.
The drug, which was neatly stacked and awaiting pick-up, was found covered by a tarpaulin.
Up to late Wednesday afternoon, the police were still busy removing the weed.
Several weeks ago the police destroyed a huge ganja field in the parish.
A major car theft operation close to that field was also uncovered.
